Last night my lover came to me.
He crouched low on one bended knee.
With a smile so bright, it seemed heavenly.
And then my lover began whispering,
"Take my hand, beauty.
There's nothing to fear.
Those shadows can't harm you,
whenever I'm here."
Cloaked by the night,
my lover's face was unseen.
He pulled me close,
before telling me,
"Walk with me, beauty.
Stop believing their lies.
It's me that needs you, darling,
tell them goodbye."
Tears welled in my eyes,
knowing what I'd leave behind.
but His voice was like satin,
Goodbye wasn't frightening
with his hand in mine.
"I'll wait for you, Beauty.
you will be mine.
I am eternal,
I have nothing but time."
Death told me he loved me.
Before he kissed me goodnight.
His voice will always be
my favorite lullaby.
